Ephemeral had wandered, going wherever his paws might take him. He had no particular destination in mind but then he never had. He just ambled along through life and taking each moment as they came. Negative feelings never touched him. He had no worries. What was there to worry about when each day presented a new adventure.
And that was what he saw this as, a brand new adventure. He followed the pathways through the mountains and eventually ended up at a lake. And it just so happened to be a magic lake, at least that was the way that Ephemeral saw it. The lake had a mountain in it. A whole mountain in a lake, just imagine it. The yearling danced around the edge of the water. How did a mountain get into the lake? That was what he was trying to figure out. The dark boy reached out a paw to try and climb the water mountain but instead it just sunk right through and into the water. |
Creature Salvitari
The male allows silence to wash over him as he maneuvers across the mountains, a gentle breeze brushing across the bandana covering his muzzle and thick liver-faded pelage. It wasn't often that he found himself extending curiosities to High and Midlands. However, Inverness had been enough to draw the beast from the shadows. Creature inhales deeply, the familiarity of the Lowlands he called home washing over him, before the downwind scent of a whelp suddenly catches his attention. Now, Creature was by no means the type you'd want to find your child. However, paternal instinct burns within his chest as he sees the pup attempt to foolishly step on top of the water, breaking into a sprint towards the shore just in time to grab Ephemeral's scruff. The large male is careful when pulling the other from the abyss known as Mirror Lake and can't help but brandish a slight scowl as golden-crimson irises maintain focus on his.. guest. Ephy yelped when he was suddenly grabbed and tugged back away from the water. It was more a sound of surprise than it was of pain. The water mountain hadn't warned him. Water mountain really should have warned him because it was magic. He hadn't even known the other wold was in the area until he had been grabbed. But then the yearling did have that sort of single minded focus where he forgot about other things in favor of the task at hand.
There was no fear as he looked at the older male. Ephy had never learned the paranoia that had possessed his mother. He had never learned to fear strangers or the unknown. "No walk water. Mountain. Climb mountain." There were other things he hadn't learned as well, such as full sentences. But then the totality of his social interactions were his mother and she spoke little herself. The dark child moved back closer to the water again to peer down at the reflection of the mountain. For all appearances it looked a solid thing in the stillness of the water. "See mountain? Climb mountain." The boy glanced back over at the other male to see if he had followed so that Ephy could show him the mountain. |
