Dear Diary,

* Meets Rhiannon at Mirror Lake. Rhiannon gifts Nimue a blue seashell. They promise to meet again.

* Nimue is introduced to others within Rhiannon's current circle: Moro and Juniper

* Nimue decides she is ready to travel her immediate area and starts at Glass Beach. Sees a reflection of herself as a child and recalls a memory of seeing a sad woman in a puddle (her older self). Literally bumps into Victorian and works on healing his paw when he cuts it.

* Meets a strange man (Stark) in Ayr who she thought was eating a bird, but he was actually attempting to heal it.

* Returns to Glass Beach after being unable to shake the feeling there is deeper magic. Mistakes Ephy for her deceased little brother.

* Asks Ephy to travel with her to find Rhiannon.

* Finds out about the King's Banquet by word of mouth and performs a water dance + turns water into wine for a mock performance.

* While visiting the castle town, finds an Ultimate Friendship Flower that she can now use to invite a special friend with her to the Valentine's Event the King is hosting at his garden.

* Arrives to the Garden Party alone and attempts to snatch a passerby for her date.

* Discovers the College’s existence by word of mouth and pays it a visit. There meets a student named Leilani.

* At the College and meets a young apothecary named Gwen, who she immediately feels a connection with.

* The first to arrive at the castle for the Winter Ball.

* Meets Aryth a professor from the College during the Ball.

* Dances with Rhiannon at the Ball and leads her to a Voxi protest.

* Joins the Voxi for the protest at the castle gardens. It does not go well. Her and Rhiannon are jailed for a time where she meets a resident convict named Third who spoke in riddles.

DETAILED HISTORY

Nimue (nim-way) Tuonela (twa-nela) Ó Soarise (o seer-sha)

HER story begins at the edge of three borders, just where the winding river birthed from Mirror Lake splits into three and travels onward into heart of the Mainlands. Nimue grew up as a child of nobility, her father being a well known figure head among their small community. Her father, Anders, and his family had settled in an estate where they were no further from Yorkshire than they were Redwood and Mirror Lake, leading into the Lowlands. The Gothraidh were a proud family of Royalists, their politics and public image priority over all else. Her mother, Máiréad, was a precious soul, her heart large enough to love a whole nation and her arms wide enough to take in all those run astray to hear of their woes and heal them of their melancholy. And the fair Baron and Baroness of the household were a vision, Nimue always found herself admiring her parentage and the way they presented themselves to the world, nothing but perfection in her eyes. Surely it was nice to be the only child scampering beneath the feet of the family and of other neighbors and friends of the family, yearning to explore her world and learn what was beyond all of the pretty polished people.

If there was one thing she loved more than ever, something that was ingrained in her memory even in the present, it was Summer visits to her Aunt Caiomhe (kee-va) in her cottage nestled against the eastern side of the Earrach Mountains. It was there that she grew, blossomed, and became who she was meant to be as she fell in love with Mirror lake and the other smaller river that extended from the mountainside and into the Lowlands. And Aunt Caiomhe was a witch...a Green Witch she had called herself, but she'd dabbled in all forms of the craft which she had begun to pass down to Nimue. She recalled all of the lessons and the laughs that they shared even with her mother, all of them enjoying their days in the sun...until it was time to go home, of course.

It had always been so difficult to return to the stuffy life of nobility, especially as she slowly phased out of her childhood. Society began to demand so much of her. She was to be prim and proper and she couldn't even belch during supper time anymore. As time went on, the sunshine and laughter faded, the days becoming bleak and seemingly lifeless. The expectations only became higher, her paternal grandparents no longer coddling her and instead they groomed her, telling her that she would one day be a bride to a wealthy boy or something of the sort. The one time she voiced her opinion to tell her grandmother how horrible it was, she received the smack of a paw over her muzzle and was told never to speak of such blasphemy. From that moment on, Nimue withdrew into herself, her unique spark snuffed out as she disassociated in her daily life. She soon discovered the skill of observation, listening to hushed whispers and secret conversations, watching the way the wolves around her interacted with one another.

Sweet relief was what she felt when once more she was brought to her Aunt Caiomhe’s home for the Summer. She took it all in as though it were a breath of fresh air, shedding this skin she felt was no longer hers as she greeted her freedom like an old friend. Nimue began to seriously study beneath the teachings of her aunt, learning the art of healing energy and the spiritual, the path of the Shaman becoming the clearest way of life to her. But, this visit began to feel different...there was an interesting vibe whenever her mother was present and many times her aunt would steal her away to speak privately. At first, Nimue thought nothing of it, but it weighed on her mind even after the visit had ended and through the next year. Her mother became pregnant again this year and gave birth to three more pups, one of them being the son they had sought after, the prized heir to the Gothraidh lineage. As the elder sister, she helped raise her brother and sisters, teaching them all she had learned from her Aunt Caiomhe and becoming their primary caregiver as her mother seemed to become less present.

In the midst of her second year and final Summer spent at the cottage had fresh new faces for Aunt Caiomhe to nip playfully at, all of the pups enchanted by the magnificent woman she was. This left Nimue to enjoy some solitude, though all she wanted to do was find her mother and to speak with her. Every time she looked for her, the woman would slip away, vanishing like a ghost. Then one evening, she became privy to it all as she lay awake listening to a quiet conversation that revealed deep, dark secrets that Máiréad had expertly concealed for all of these years. The next day, she confronted her aunt who easily relinquished all that she knew, finding her niece deserving of the truth. Nimue's mother had suffered from a depression that had followed the marriage to her father. They were young and she had thought she'd loved him to the ends of the earth only to find that he'd charmed her into a contract rather than a marriage and she was to bear him a son, an heir. With the birth of each litter, her mother's depression would peak which is why Anders had thought it best she spend these Summers with her sister who was the only family she had left. Her mother's mental health had only deteriorated over the years as she, just as her daughter, found herself trapped in a cage, longing for another life. And recently...she'd found it in the form of love among the Yorkshire villagers, the gardener, Fallon. An affair had begun between the women and now that Máiréad had provided Anders with a son, she'd seemingly fulfilled her contract and planned to leave him, promising herself that she would not ever have another child by this man.

The story was shocking to say the least, but it seemed to open her mind further to the world around her, only wishing to improve it as she could. Nimue took to studying more heavily beneath her aunt, emphasizing on healing of the spiritual energies of ones being. One day she intended to speak to her mother, to let her know she supported her decision and accepted her in all that she was, but this was her day to take her younger siblings on an outing. There had been a heavy rain that subsided, causing the waters of the river to rise and rush more fiercely along their path. Though she warned the pups of its dangers, the children had found themselves feeling rather brave to cross a massive log over the top of a lower portion of the stream. Nimue had been reluctant to allow them to do so, though she'd always been sure to let them have their fun for one day it would be taken from them. She never took her eyes off of them, but by the time she noticed a change in the rushing waters, it was too late. The water had pressed up against the trunk so hard, it eventually knocked it off its perch, leaving Nimue to witness in horror as all three pups had been thrown into the river, the log rolling over them as they attempted to gasp for air. Nimue jumped into the water in an attempts to save them, but the current had thrown her to and fro and she found herself thrashing to even get to the surface and drag herself beyond.

Upon the grave news, Nimue's mother had completely fallen apart refusing to return home with her when she was immediately sent back to the manor. The news had reached her father, their family, and the many villages surrounding their estate before she'd even made it home. Nimue was met with the harshest treatment, all of them thrusting the blame on her for their loss, disregarding the fact that she too had lost. She was hurting herself on the inside as those around her cast stones at her from the outside. Her father, Anders, saw her once if only to beat her for what he considered a crime and all she could feel was a cold dark hate in her breast for him, for every goddamn presence of this deplorable community of hypocrites. Nimue did her best to stand proud, await the day her mother returned to make it better, but nearly a month of being spat at and cursed for merely existing and she could take no more. The girl ran, took to the mountains as though she were going to her aunt's cottage but stayed to the side fo the mountains just as a horrible storm begin to brew, the rain soaking her pelt, and she welcomed it. When she reached higher ground on the outskirts of the mountains, she took a look back towards the direction of the acreage she had once called home only to wish that the rain would wash it and all of its inhabitants away. And to her surprise...it did. The torrential downpour was the cause of a massive flood that swallowed the Gothraidh manor and the surrounding territories, the infamous tide taking the lives of all who had lived there.

The entire event had left Nimue feeling empowered and she was eager to tell her mother and aunt about all of it. But when she arrived at her aunt's home that she had found out her mother had left and had raced back to Yorkshire to whisk away her lover, just before nature took its toll. That was the end of Máiréad and Fallon as it was for her father, Anders, her grandparents, her younger siblings, and the many faces she had known all of her life. The ones she had grown to love, to fear, and then to hate with all of her being. And now? Now what did she feel? Nothing...there was nothing there and she felt absolutely empty, becoming a husk of what she had once been. Caiomhe did her best to provide comfort as they faced the dawn of a new day, though for Nimue, the new day was just as cold and grim as the last. She continued her studies, keeping herself busy with them and eventually finding her own way, leaving her father's surname to rot with him in the dirt as she adopted her mother's maiden name. She took to building her own cottage-like den on the Southern side of the Earrach Mountains. She became enthralled with Mirror Lake, constructing her own altars there and ritually wading in its waters that provided her with a sense of peace like no other, especially when done in the light of the moon. And thus, the story does not end here, but leads into the next chapter...
